The Movies that Matter Series will feature We Are Water on May 21, 4:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Ephraim. The film screening is in collaboration with Celebrate Water Door County (CW).
The documentary film gives a first-hand look at the complexity of water below the surface, as Jill Heinerth, a renowned scuba diver and keynote speaker for the CW Summit, guides the viewer through various water environments.
Captain Jim Robinson will lead the discussion after the film. Robinson started scuba diving in 1966, prior to any standard certification agencies. In 1969 he did his first cave dive in one of the freshwater springs and caves in far north Florida and over the years self-trained himself and others in cave diving.
He is currently a full cave diver with the (NACD) National Association of Cave Diving and through the National Speleological Society / Cave Diving Section (NSS/CDS). He has received the Abe Davis Safety Award in cave diving from the NSS/CDS and he was the 58th person to receive the Wakulla Award in cave diving from the NACD. He is a Door County resident since 1976 and currently owns and operates Shoreline Scenic Cruises & Charters in Gills Rock.
